Intumescent Seals

Intumescent fire and smoke seals are a key component in preventing fire and smoke passing around the peripheral of the door edge.

Most intumescent seals are fixed with a pre manufactured adhesive layer, into a groove within the door frame or door leaf edge. Smoke seals can become worn over time through usage and intumescent seals can loose their adhesive backing, causing them to fall out. When damaged or missing, it is important that the correctly specified intumescent seal is identified within the fire door inspection and then replaced.

The sizes depend on the fire door rating and door test evidence. There is also a variety of colours.
