The project involved conducting fire door inspections and fire compartmentation surveys throughout this historic campus, where particular buildings had recently completed fire strategies. Each defect was recorded with the relevant recommended maintenance repair (or replacement) in accordance with BM TRADA’s accepted repair technique schedule. Any historic door sets (some with listings) were discussed with the fire engineer (The Fire Surgery UK) to implement an apoproach of practical improvement. Each fire compartmentation defect was again recorded with the recommended certified firestopping solution. Both reports for every building were collated and discussed in a consultation with the client, with recommended work issued and instructed.

A programme of fire door maintenance, fire door replacement and firestopping were scheduled during the extended school holiday/boarding periods. Works were completed, with handover of BM TRADA maintenance or installation certification, firestopping installation and relevant manufacturer O&Ms.
