A number of fire compartmentation deficiencies had been identified in recent fire risk assessments and fire alarm work throughout the hospital. The majority of these resided above suspended ceilings, in roof voids and areas with restricted access. LAC Services were tasked with carrying out fire compartmentation surveys and subsequently the remedial fire stopping and fire curtain installation work to all designated compartmentation lines highlighted on the recently drafted fire strategy drawings. The project was scheduled in phases determined by department within the buildings. Each department was certified and handed over before work could commence on the next phase. The required work within each department varied from a few hours to several weeks in duration.
